To help celebrate the upcoming 75th anniversary of Timberline Lodge, R.L.K. and Company, longtime operators of the historic lodge and surrounding ski area, is releasing a new book, Timberline Lodge: A Love Story, Diamond Jubilee Edition.
Situated at the 6000 foot level of Oregon’s beautiful Mt. Hood, Timberline Lodge is a genuine icon of the Great Northwest. Built during the throes of the Great Depression, this quintessential ski lodge is one of the nation’s best known WPA buildings, having been built and furnished entirely by Northwest craftsmen and artisans working under President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal Federal Arts Project.
There is a strong sense of place here, even a power of place, and yet Timberline is more than just a place. There is a special and collective love story behind this place. Timberline Lodge: A Love Story, Diamond Jubilee Edition tells that story.
